In the present tense of certain verbs that terminate in -ar, the vowel of the stem changes from o to ue whenever the accent falls upon this vowel. The endings remain regular.

In other verbs the vowel of the stem changes from e to ie whenever the accent falls upon this vowel. The endings remain regular.

NOTE: No change takes in the first person plural of these verbs because the accent does not fall upon the vowel of the stem but upon the first syllable of the verb ending.
