The future tense of all three conjugations (i.e. ar, er, and ir verbs) is formed in the same way.
The future tense is used exactly as in English, to describe some future action. In particular, it is used to express promise, determination, or assurance regarding some future act.
Yo le pagaré el dinero mañana.
I will pay you the money tomorrow.
Juan nos ayudará con el trabajo.
John will help us with the work.
